Ronaldinho Gets His Teeth Fixed, Pays $58,000 to Alter Iconic Smile (Video)

Say it ain’t so, Ronaldinho.

The Brazilian soccer star underwent cosmetic surgery to correct the alignment of his upper teeth in August. Video and photos of the procedure surfaced on the Internet this week.

The 2004 and 2005 FIFA World Player of the Year Award winner paid a hefty fee, reportedly £36,000 ($57,718) to have his teeth realigned, gums altered and porcelain caps put on his teeth.

He declined the corrective surgery for years, saying his buck-toothed grin was how millions of fans around the world identified him. It was either the toothy smile or silky soccer skills (and ridiculous goals) that made him a world soccer icon for the last decade. We’re inclined to believe it was the latter.
