Never fear, hockey fans — The NHL season is just around the corner.

In a move that should signal the official end of summer, the ice crew over at TD Garden started preparations Wednesday for the 2013 Bruins season as they painted the team’s home ice with black and gold. Fans eager to wash the taste of last year’s Stanley Cup loss out of their mouths can start catching B’s action this month. The Bruins have their first preseason game against the Canadiens on Sept. 16, and the B’s open on their home ice on Sept. 19 against the Red Wings.

Hockey is back, people.
