Peyton Manning, Terrell SuggsSure, Terrell Suggs. Maybe the Broncos will see your team, the Baltimore Ravens, again. But are you sure it’s not going to be ugly the second time around, too?

The Ravens are leaving Denver shaking their heads after getting rung up in a 49-27 loss on the opening night of the season, their first game back since winning the Super Bowl. The Ravens were obliterated by Peyton Manning, who tossed a record-tying seven touchdown passes, and Baltimore’s shaky defense gave up a franchise-record 49 points. The group that has looked increasingly older and slower over the past couple of years was playing its first game without the much-ballyhooed Ray Lewis on Thursday.

Suggs wasn’t letting any of those factors intimidate him, though. He instead promised that the Ravens would see the Broncos again, in the playoffs.

“The great thing is it’s Week 1,” Suggs said, according to USA Today. “It’s one game. But I guarantee they will see us again.”

Suggs admitted some mistakes but did not appear too concerned.

“We’ve got some things we’ve got to fix, tighten up, obviously,” he said. “But will we go in the tank? Is the whole season down the drain? No. It’s one game. It’s one game. All this game tells us — we’re not going to go 16-0. And I think the whole world knew that going in.”

The Baltimore locals is likely hoping that “tightening” can happen half a dozen points at a time.
