Just about everyone has an opinion on Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel. Most views of the quarterback have changed over the last few months, as many folks outside of Texas think the fame is going straight to Johnny Football’s head.

Tom Brady was even asked about Manziel this week and the Patriots quarterback had an interesting (albeit indirect) piece of advice for the young QB.

On CNBC’s Squawk Box on Wednesday, Brady was asked about Manziel’s recent showboating in the Aggies’ season opener against Rice. Manziel, who had to sit out the first half because of an NCAA suspension, was flagged by the refs and subsequently benched by head coach Kevin Smith after engaging in a little bit too much smack talk with an opponent after scoring a touchdown.

Host Joe Kernen asked the Pats slinger a wordy question referring to Manziel’s showboating and eventually got around to asking: “what’s the biggest thing you’ve ever done in terms of flaunting? I think I’ve maybe seen a fist pump. That’s about it, isn’t it?”

“I get pretty emotional. I have a lot of respect for the teammates, for my teammates, for my organization, and certainly for other guys in the NFL,” he said. “There’s not a guy playing in the NFL who hasn’t earned the right to be here, and who isn’t supremely talented. He’s probably been the best athlete in his high school class, in his elementary school class. So when you look across the ball you have respect for those guys, and you treat them with respect because football’s a physical game. And as [Robert Kraft] would say, ‘if you’re a turd, it’s going to come back to you.'”
