Tom Brady Says Darrelle Revis Is Best Cornerback He Has Ever Played Against

Darrelle RevisFOXBORO, Mass. — If Darrelle Revis needed a boost of confidence going into his first matchup against the Patriots as a member of the Buccaneers, he got it from Tom Brady.

Brady had some high praise for the player he used to have to face twice a year.

“I’ve never played against anyone who is as good as him,” Brady said. “He’s as good as there is that I’ve ever played against, so you just have to be careful when you throw his way because you know he’s going to be close. There’s no one that’s going to be wide open, you’ve just got to make sure you put the ball in a position where only the receiver can catch it.”

With Danny Amendola on the mend, Revis may have to face off against Julian Edelman, the only trusted target Brady has left.

“I mean, there are some great corners I’ve been able to play against: Champ Bailey, Patrick Surtain, and that goes back a few years, but yeah, Charles Woodson, I mean I love the way he plays the game still. But I mean Darrelle is certainly at the top.”

We’ll see on Sunday if Revis is still on the top of his game after undergoing knee surgery and switching teams.
