Troy Polamalu Cutting Hair for First Time in Decade to Support Veterans (Video)

For the first time in more than 10 years, Troy Polamalu has scheduled a trip to the barber.

The Steelers safety announced Thursday that he will chop off his iconic hair, which has flown out the back of his helmet since his days at USC, on Nov. 11 — Veterans Day — as part of the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ “Mane Event.” The event, which asks supporters to either cut their hair or pledge money for others to do so, aims to raise funds and awareness for soldiers returning home from overseas.

Polamalu explained his decision to trim his luscious locks in a post on his personal Facebook page, which linked to a video promoting the VFW’s event. Check it out below.
