Bill Belichick all but confirmed the bad news that Vince Wilfork is likely out for the season.

Belichick said Wilfork has a “serious” injury during his weekly appearance on WEEI. The Boston Globe reported Wilfork suffered a torn Achilles tendon in the first quarter against the Falcons.

“It’s probably unlikely that he’ll be able to play again this year,” Belichick told WEEI on Monday afternoon.

Belichick said he did not have a lot of information on Wilfork’s injury during his Monday morning conference call. Wilfork left Atlanta in a walking boot.
