Only two spots are open on the Bruins’ third line alongside Chris Kelly, but a handful of hopefuls are making their cases as to why they should be on either side of Kelly when the puck drops in the regular-season opener.

Carl Soderberg, Jordan Caron, Reilly Smith, Matt Fraser, Craig Cunningham, Ryan Spooner and Jared Knight are all competing for the winger positions. The B’s are looking for an offensive punch as well as defensive grit out of the two spots, and Soderberg, known on the ice for his two-way play, may be the No. 1 option to fill one of the gaps.

Check out what all six of the guys had to say about the competition in the above video.
