Aqib Talib Returns to Patriots Practice, But Jogs Gingerly, Doesn’t Complete Warmups

Aqib TalibFOXBORO, Mass. — The Patriots’ No. 1 cornerback has returned.

Aqib Talib was on the Patriots’ practice field on Friday during warmups. He jogged with the rest of his teammates but left the line before the rest of the team had completed their reps. Talib suffered a hip injury against the Saints and missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

Talib still may not return for Sunday’s game against the Jets, but his presence at practice is a positive sign. It means that this likely is not a long-term injury. If we don’t see him in New York, he could be back by Week 8 against the Dolphins.

Leon Washington, Tommy Kelly and Danny Amendola were missing from practice. It is highly unlikely any of those three players suit up on Sunday. Brandon Bolden spent his time at practice on a stationary bike.
