Austin Collie‘s concussion concerns had him all but written off in the NFL. After four seasons with the Colts marked by injuries, he didn’t have a team for the start of the 2013 season.

That seems to have worked in Collie’s favor, though, as the wide receiver who used to catch passes from Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck got a chance to reel in a couple from Tom Brady on Sunday. Collie, signed a couple of weeks ago to shore up a Patriots receiving corps that has needed help due to inexperience and injuries, was part of Sunday’s game-winning drive.

Collie was in the game late after Danny Amendola went down with a head injury, and he was right where he needed to be when Brady zipped the Patriots down the field with a precise ending drive. Collie had two catches for 24 yards, including a pivotal nine-yard reception on 4th-and-4 that set up Kenbrell Thompkins‘ game-winning touchdown catch.

Collie, happy to have another chance, tweeted his thanks to fans Sunday night.
