Berkshire Bank Faceoff: B’s Hit the Road to Take On Sergei Bobrovsky, Blue Jackets

Cody McCormick, Sergei BobrovskyThe last time the Bruins saw Sergei Bobrovsky, the goalie was a member of the Philadelphia Flyers’ traveling goaltending circus. This time around, the B’s are set to face Bobrovksy as the reigning Vezina Trophy winner.

The Bruins are in Columbus on Saturday afternoon to take on the Blue Jackets where Bobrovsky is expected to be between the pipes for CBJ. He’s coming off of a breakout season in which he won the Vezina as the league’s top goaltender. That was in large part due to the fact that he helped the Blue Jackets, expected to be one of the league’s worst teams last year, stay in playoff contention until the end of the season.

Bobrovsky is no stranger to the Bruins. While he’s only faced the B’s twice during the regular season with just one start, in those two games, he’s given up three goals and stopped 45 of 48 shots he’s faced. The goalie also saw time against Boston during the 2010 playoffs when he was still with the Philadelphia Flyers. He gave up six goals in four games during that series.

Here are the projected lines for Saturday’s matinee.
