Brandon SpikesBrandon Marshall is expecting to be fined for rocking some sweet green cleats in the Bears’ win on Thursday. But he’s not the only one facing discipline from the NFL’s apparel police this week.

Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes was fined $7,875 this week after wearing red shoes in a loss to the Bengals in Cincinnati last Sunday, according to Pro Football Talk.

Spikes has been fined by the NFL before, but never for violating the league’s strict uniform policy. He was fined $21,000 for a blindside block on Bills tight end Scott Chandler in Week 4 last season. He was also fined $25,000 for a late hit on then Bills and current Titans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in Week 10.

Spikes isn’t the first player to be fined for his footwear this season. Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was fined $5,250 last week for wearing green shoes in a game. With the apparent escalating fines, Marshall might expect to pay even more than Spikes once his fine comes down.
