Cardinals v Boston Red Sox World Series Game 4David Ortiz is, by most estimations, headed to the Hall of Fame.

That’s apparently something his Red Sox teammates don’t mind reminding him about.

Ortiz, who has always been strong in the postseason, has been ridiculous in this Fall Classic. He’s gone 8-for-11 with two home runs and five RBIs, and he has an OPS that was formerly only imagined outside of the theoretical — 2.114.

In response, his Red Sox teammates have started flinging a new nickname around.

“He’s a stud,” Jonny Gomes said. “That’s why we call him ‘Cooperstown.'”

While Ortiz’s career stats seem to chart the path already, a third championship wouldn’t hurt. He has a .436 batting average with eight extra-base hits and 13 RBIs over 12 career World Series games.
