After the Red Sox took Games 2 and 3 of the best-of-seven ALCS series, the Tigers bit back on Wednesday, outlasting the Sox 7-3 and evening up the series at 2-2.

Red Sox starter Jake Peavy lasted just three innings and gave up seven earned runs on five hits and three walks. Brandon Workman, Ryan Dempster, Franklin Morales and Felix Doubront did their best to keep the Red Sox in the game, but the damage had already been done, and the deficit was insurmountable.

Doug Fister took the mound for the Tigers and gave up just one run on eight hits over six innings and struck out seven. Mike Napoli, Jacoby Ellsbury and Xander Bogaerts all crossed home plate for the Sox, but the offensive power just wasn’t where it needed to be.
