Dropkick Murphys Open Game 6 With National Anthem Performance Featuring Accordion, Banjo (Video)

The Red Sox took Game 6 of the American League Championship Series after the Dropkick Murphys sang the national anthem, and they were just as successful following the Boston-based band’s second gig.

The Dropkicks were back to perform a unique rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” prior to Game 6 of the World Series on Wednesday — a contest the Sox of course went on to win, allowing them to clinch the championship at Fenway Park. The anthem was only the beginning, though, as the band then launched into “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” before John Lackey took the mound for the top of the first.
