The atmosphere at Fenway Park on Wednesday night was electric from the first pitch to Koji Uehara’s last pitch to clinch the World Series title.
While the Red Sox had jumped out to a six-run lead by the fourth inning, the Fenway Faithful kept the noise at an all-time high, exploding with every crack of the bat and rising to their feet as John Lackey walked off the field after 6 2/3 stellar innings.
The energy was incredible throughout, but as Uehara struck out Matt Carpenter to seal the Game 6 victory and close out the series, the crowd absolutely erupted, almost drowning out “Dirty Water” from the speakers.
CBS Sports’ Matt Snyder had a pretty great view when the Red Sox clinched their third title in 10 seasons and sent Boston into mayhem. From the right field seats, Snyder was able to capture the amazing environment in a spectacular video.
