The heavily favored Seahawks narrowly edged St. Louis on Monday night, but by watching Golden Tate, you’d think the game was a blowout.

Tate hauled in an 80-yard touchdown pass from Russell Wilson late in the third quarter for Seattle’s second and final score (he also caught their first), and the wideout went into full NFL Blitz mode as soon as his fingers touched the ball.

Rams defensive back Janoris Jenkins mistimed his attempt to pick off Wilson’s bomb, giving Tate a wide-open lane to the end zone. He took his sweet time getting there, holding the ball out away from his body and waving in the face of St. Louis’ Rodney McLeod for a solid 30 yards.

Tate was assessed a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and was given a nice tongue-lashing by Jon Gruden on the telecast, but his touchdown stood, providing what proved to be the game-winning points in the 14-9 victory.
