Cleveland’s biggest victory Thursday night wasn’t overcoming the loss of quarterback Brian Hoyer to injury or finishing off a 37-24 polishing of the Buffalo Bills. The real win was that the Browns got the job done on the night they honored the greatest player in franchise history.

Jim Brown was the center of a special ceremony in Cleveland, being honored at halftime and inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor. The team also, for the first time in history, wore all-brown uniforms.

The real defining moment, however, came after the Browns pulled off the win. Brown visited the team locker room, and Rob Chudzinski, in his first season as Cleveland’s head coach, showed his understanding of team history right away. Chudzinski handed Brown the game ball as the team watched.
