If everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame, Jose Canseco‘s watch has been broken for years.
It didn’t take long for Canseco to take to Twitter after news of longtime Detroit bench boss Jim Leyland‘s resignation went public. Canseco has made a name for himself on Twitter in recent years for his diatribes against Shaquille O’Neal and general thoughts about science and immortality. After news of Leyland’s resignation went live, Canseco wanted everybody to know he was the man for the job.
Like many of Canseco’s Twitter rants, his messages to the Tigers and GM and team president Dave Dombrowski run the gamut from giddily childish — “Hello Detroit @tigers it is Cansecotime! #motorcityseco #Cantiger” — to hopelessly desperate — “Who am I kidding. I just want a shot in any level. Who can help me.”
It seem as if Canseco can’t go two weeks without an outburst on Twitter. At least this time, Canseco wasn’t tearing into Little League umpires.
