The Florida Gators’ starting running back will be a freshman wearing No. 21 with the name Taylor on the back. Of course, it won’t be Fred Taylor taking carries for the Gators as Florida takes on Georgia (his eligibility ran out years ago). Head coach Will Muschamp announced Taylor’s son, Kelvin Taylor, is taking on starting responsibilities.

Taylor has rushed for 172 yards on 28 carries as a reserve this season. The true freshman was a four-star recruit out of Glades Day School. The Gators have struggled this season, going 4-3.

Taylor’s father rushed for 873 yards on 171 carries his freshman year in 1994. He added 271 yards on 29 receptions.
