Kevin Durant Primed For Massive Season as Thunder Look to Remind NBA They Remain Dangerous (Podcast)

kdIn case everybody forgot — and from the sound of it, a lot of people did — Kevin Durant is pretty talented.

Two seasons ago, Durant raised his game to its highest levels yet and led the Oklahoma City Thunder to their first NBA Finals. Last season, Durant was arguably better than ever once again, until running mate Russell Westbrook suffered a knee injury that undercut the Thunder’s hopes of a repeat Finals appearance.

Westbrook is still working his way back after a setback related to his knee surgery, but Durant is ready to remind everyone that one fluke injury doesn’t mean the three-time scoring champ has lost it. And in a wide-open NBA season, Durant is not the only player with something to prove. NBA editor Ben Watanabe and assistant editor Nick Goss sat down to discuss their thoughts on the coming season. They offered their predictions for Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, NBA champion and more.
