The Broncos suffered their first loss of the season Sunday night, dropping a 39-33 decision on the road to the Colts, but defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson can expect to lose even more.

During an Indianapolis extra point attempt in the third quarter, Vickerson found himself on the back of Colts center Samson Satele, who was lined up next to the long snapper on the play. With his full weight pushing down on Satele, Vickerson delivered a swift punch to the center’s right knee, sending him to the ground in pain and sidelining him for the remainder of the game.

Vickerson was not penalized for his punch, but he did draw three separate personal fouls in the loss. Though he’ll probably be the one facing a fine from the league office this week, the veteran said the Colts were the ones playing dirty.

“When you get calls that don’t go your way, you get cheap shots and [crap] like that, but still get called against you, what are you going to do then? You try to play through it,” Vickerson told USA Today. “But at the same time, it’s frustrating, when you know you did everything right. You know what I mean?

“[Satele] kneed me in my head and jumped on my neck, and I got called for it. It’s on tape. At some point during the game, I blacked out. It is what it is.”
