Bruins winger Loui Eriksson must be feeling a little better after suffering a concussion last week, but he’s still not out of the woods just yet.
The Boston forward was at the team’s practice facility in Wilmington, Mass., on Monday morning, which is a good sign in his recovery after being concussed by Buffalo’s John Scott in a Bruins win last week. However, Eriksson isn’t ready to return to the ice just yet.
“He’s doing better,” Bruins coach Claude Julien said after practice, according to ESPN.com. “The one good news is he showed up this morning, came by and that’s usually good news when a guy can leave his home and come to the rink. We’re taking it day by day with him. I think right now, you’re not going to see him for the next week, and I don’t think he’ll skate in the next week. We can put it at that stage for now.”
Eriksson has been out since Wednesday, when Scott leveled him with a high, suspect hit in the third period of what was a blowout win for the Bruins. While Scott sits and waits for an in-person hearing with the NHL scheduled for Thursday, Eriksson also sits and waits for things to clear up.
“Loui’s doing OK, I guess, for a guy who suffered a concussion,” Julien had said Saturday after the team’s morning skate ahead of its game with the New Jersey Devils. “It’s the same thing — you have a good day, you have less of a good day — and it’s early on but we’re just, like always, you keep your fingers crossed that it’s going to get better sooner than later for his sake.”
