Mariano Rivera Wears Eli Manning Jersey While Serving as Honorary Captain for Giants (Photos)

The Giants desperately need a victory after losing their first six games to start the season, so they brought out a guy who knows a little something about winning to hopefully turn things around for the woeful team.

Sporting an Eli Manning jersey, Mariano Rivera was on hand to participate in the honorary coin flip before New York took on the Vikings. After hanging up the cleats for good, No. 42 showed his retirement is off to a mighty fine start, hanging out with some of the players and chatting it up with head coach Tom Coughlin and co-owner John Mara before the game.

Mo will be enjoying Monday night’s game from a decent spot too as he’ll be sitting in Mara’s suite.
