The constant quote machine that is Pedro Martinez has not gotten rusty in retirement.

Martinez, who has been offering nuggets of insight as a TBS analyst this postseason, joined Derek Lowe, Trot Nixon and a host of other teammates from the 2004 championship squad at Fenway Park on Thursday night.

Before the crew of former Red Sox tossed out the first pitch(es) at Game 2 of the World Series, they made the media rounds. And as viewers have learned throughout these playoffs, Pedro at the microphone is a recipe for gold. Prior to game time, the former ace gave his take on the newest edition of the team.

“I don’t know if you guys have been noticing the way [this year’s team] play[s] the game,” Martinez told the assembled reporters. “They play the game like a wolfpack. That’s how I describe the whole team, like a wolfpack, because they draw a plan to kill and to feed everybody.”

Before Pedro could finish his thought, Lowe provided a voice of reason.

“What are we talking about again right now?” Martinez’s former rotation mate joked. “You got me lost.”
