Referee Sören Persson must have watched a bunch of WWE before a recent hockey game.
The ref, who was breaking up a brawl during a game between the Swedish Hockey League’s Vaxjo Lakers and Farjestads BK, nearly went all Stone Cold Steve Austin on Farjestads’ Danish forward Marius Holtet.
Not only did Persson toss a nice chokehold on the 29-year-old, he had him locked up so tight the player had to tap out. As if that wasn’t embarrassing enough, Holtet, still on his knees, received one heck of a scolding by the man in stripes for all to see.
