Peyton ManningPeyton Manning took a few vicious hits against the Colts last week, so it’s no wonder that the quarterback is a bit dinged up.

Manning has two sprained ankles, which caused him to miss practice earlier this week, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen. The Broncos’ quarterback will start against the Redskins on Sunday, but he needed a pain killer to help ease the pain before kickoff.

Manning suffered one of the ankle sprains on a sack by Jason Babin in the Broncos’ win against the Jaguars two weeks ago. The other sprain was a result of a sack by Colts defensive end Robert Mathis in Denver’s first loss of the season last Sunday night.

The Broncos do have a bye next week, which seems to have come at the perfect time for Manning to rest up and get healthy.
