Report: Tim Tebow Could Sign With Rams, Team Discussing Possibility

Tim Tebow‘s dreams of returning to the NFL this season may not be so outlandish after all.

The St. Louis Rams became the latest possible landing spot for the free-agent quarterback after they lost Sam Bradford to a knee injury in Sunday’s loss to Carolina. Mike Silver of the NFL Network reported that the Rams have internally discussed signing Tebow, but quickly followed that up with a tweet stating that a signing would be “unlikely.”

Bradford was carted off the field during the fourth quarter of the game after the Heisman Trophy winner was pushed out of bounds and landed awkwardly on his knees. Bradford will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury, but CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reported that the Rams are expecting Bradford to be done for the season.

Kellen Clemens is the only other quarterback on the roster for St. Louis, representing their only option at this point in time with no signal callers on their practice squad, either. Clemens replaced Bradford on Sunday, finishing the day 2-for-4 with 19 yards. While it seems improbable that the Rams will reach out to Tebow, the possibility remains for the team suddenly desperate for an alternative under center.

Tebow was released by the Patriots before the start of the 2013 season and last played in an NFL regular season game with the New York Jets in 2012.
