Once and for all, NBA fans deserve a healthy Ricky Rubio this season.

The Minnesota Timberwolves’ peerless ballhandler has missed 44 games in the last two seasons due to injuries, but for the first time in his NBA career he finally looks ready to put in a full 82 games. Rubio has reminded teammates and opponents alike in the preseason just how thrilling he can be with the ball in his hands.

Sixers rookie Michael Carter-Williams got a taste of Rubio’s medicine on Wednesday night during the Wolves’ preseason game in Philadelphia. With Rubio leading a fast break, Minnesota forward Kevin Love came streaking down the middle of the court. The only way for Rubio to get the ball to Love was by going right through Carter-Williams, so that is what Rubio did — bouncing a nutmeg pass through the rookie’s legs and hitting Love for a layup.
