San Jose State’s Unveils New Spartan Warrior-Inspired Basketball Court (Photo)

The award for most creative offseason court redesign goes to the Spartans of San Jose State.

The basketball court at San Jose State Event Center — which previously was nothing remarkable — now features an off-center, oversized Spartan logo and five very large Spartans, creating a scene on the floor that looks like something out of 300.

Whether San Jose State can field a team worthy of its fearsome new home court is another matter entirely. The Spartans lost their final 14 games last season and finished with a field goal percentage (37.7) that ranked 340th of the 351 teams in Division I. They make the move to the Mountain West Conference this season, where they’ve been picked to finish last in the preseason media poll.

The move from the WAC has gotten the school a fancy new court, though. Check it out below.
