The World Series kicks off on Wednesday, but on the eve of the Fall Classic let’s step back and take a look at some of the defining moments that led the Cardinals and Red Sox to the pinnacle of their respective seasons — in Lego form, of course.

Unearthed by Deadspin and created by Sports Illustrated Kids, the top plays of the National League Championship Series and American League Championship series have been recreated with the childhood-favorite toy in an amusing, one-minute recap video.

Despite being able to show actual facial expressions, the Legos capture all of the drama that defined Boston’s hard-fought series against the Tigers. David Ortiz‘s grand salami in Game 2, Steven Horgan‘s iconic pose as Torii Hunter tumbles over the fence and Shane Victorino‘s blast over the Green Monster in Game 6 — complete with his chest-pounding trot around the bases — all make an appearance in the short film.

While the miniature, animated versions of the real deals are a sight in and of themselves, the best part about the creative project may be that all of the little Red Sox players have beards.
