Tommy Kelly Status for Patriots’ Week 8 Matchup Against Dolphins in Doubt After Missing Practice on Thursday

Tommy KellyFOXBORO, Mass. — It appears Tommy Kelly is set to miss his third straight game.

The veteran defensive tackle missed practice on Thursday. He suffered a knee injury Week 5 against the Bengals and has not practice since. Leon Washington injured his ankle in that same game. He also has not practiced since.

The severity of Kelly’s knee injury is not known. The fact that he was not placed on injured reserve suggests it is not a season-ending ailment.

Aqib Talib and Danny Amendola were back out at practice. This is Amendola’s second consecutive practice and Talib’s third. Amendola suffered a concussion Week 6 against the Saints. Talib hurt his hip in that game.

Since Amendola is set to practice, that’s a positive sign for his availability on Sunday against the Dolphins. Talib’s hip could be healthy enough to practice on, but we’ll have to wait see if he can go against Miami.
