Tyler Seguin and Rich Peverley were paired together on the Dallas Stars’ first line for Friday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets, and the former Boston Bruins wingers immediately rewarded head coach Lindy Ruff.

Seguin scored the first goal of his Stars career 12 minutes into the first period, with Peverley and Jamie Benn picking up the assists.

The former No. 2 overall draft pick unleashed a powerful slap shot from a few feet outside the faceoff circle that beat Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec stick-side. Seguin enjoyed his best period of the season with three points (a goal and two assists) through the first 20 minutes.  Dallas took a 3-0 lead into the intermission.
