Andy Reid Talks About His Own Ability at a Buffet When Trying to Describe Talent of Peyton Manning

Andy ReidAndy Reid knows a lot about football, and he could talk football if that’s what folks want. But in trying to get some fresh material to describe just how good Peyton Manning is as the Broncos and Chiefs prepare for their huge AFC showdown, Reid instead turned to his other area of expertise.

The man who quickly made his way through Kansas City’s barbecue establishment says that, as much as hardcore eating takes talent, Manning’s ability to pick through a defense is just as good. (Or, at least, that appears to be the metaphor in this situation.)

“I would tell you he’s talented,” Reid said of Manning during his Wednesday press conference, according to Larry Brown Sports. “There’s talent there. You and I could do this at a buffet, but he does it on the football field. There’s some athletic ability that takes place there. He’s got that figured out.”

Manning’s devouring abilities will be on display Sunday night in Denver, where the Chiefs’ well-regarded defense will try to play the role of that teacher who keeps the fat kid away from another sandwich.
