Antonio Cromartie and Ed Reed are two of the best playmakers the NFL has seen over the past decade, and their already forming a tight bond as teammates with the Jets. They’re so close, in fact, that they even got matching t-shirts.
Cromartie and Reed were sporting some matching brown t-shirts inside the Jets’ locker room on Thursday. The shirts very much resembled an old “Wanted” poster from the old west, even offering “$20,000” with a photo of a football and a tagline that read “in the air or on the ground.”
The shirts seem like just a little fun and games between a couple teammates, and a few years ago, it wouldn’t have even been considered anything more. But, since the Saints’ Bountygate scandal, there is definitely a more heightened awareness about similar pay-for-play systems. Reed assured that it was nothing more than a joke, saying that no one was actually offering money, according to ESPN New York’s Jane McManus.
