Karl Stollery might want to make sure all his chiclets are intact after this one.

Stollery, a Merrimack product now playing with Colorado’s AHL affiliate in Lake Erie, was demolished by Canucks prospect Darren Archibald along the boards during a game in Utica on Tuesday. The hit, which was clean, dislodged the puck and sent the defenseman’s stakes whipping through the air as he tumbled to the ice.

But Stollery, last season’s team leader in points and assists among defensemen, had the last laugh. He netted his third goal of the season just 1:30 into the game, and former Bruins blueliner Matt Hunwick scored the eventual game-winner in the second to lead the Monsters to a 3-2 victory.

Check out the hit in the video below, with a stick tap to Deadspin.
