Berkshire Bank Faceoff: Adam McQuaid Still Out, Kevan Miller in Bruins Lineup Against Carolina

Adam McQuaidBOSTON — The Bruins were hopeful Adam McQuaid could return Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes, but the defenseman’s apparent lower-body injury will keep him from returning for at least one more game.

Bruins coach Claude Julien said that McQuaid won’t be back in the lineup Saturday afternoon when the B’s and Canes tangle at TD Garden. That means rookie Kevan Miller, who made his NHL debut Thursday against the St. Louis Blues, will suit up. Miller was pretty good in his debut, which probably made it easier to let McQuaid take at least one more game.

Julien wouldn’t reveal who his starting goaltender will be, but it’s probably safe to assume Chad Johnson will make the start after Tuukka Rask made the last four starts, including three in four days.

Here are the projected lines for both clubs.

Bruins (14-6-2, 30 points)

Milan Lucic — David Krejci — Jarome Iginla
Brad Marchand — Patrice Bergeron — Loui Eriksson
Carl Soderberg — Chris Kelly — Reilly Smith
Daniel Paille — Gregory Campbell — Shawn Thornton

Zdeno Chara — Dougie Hamilton
Torey Krug — Johhny Boychuk
Matt Bartkowski — Kevan Miller

Hurricanes (8-10-4, 20 points)

Jiri Tlusty — Eric Staal — Jeff Skinner
Nathan Gerbe — Jordan Staal — Pat Dwyer
Elias Lindholm — Riley Nash — Tuomo Ruutu
Drayson Bowman — Manny Maholtra — Radek Dvorak

Justin Faulk — Andrej Sekera
Brett Bellemore — Ron Hainsey
Ryan Murphy — Tim Gleason
