The Leafs had their hearts broken when the Bruins pulled off a comeback for the ages in last year’s first-round playoff series by becoming the first team to ever win a Game 7 when trailing by three or more goals in the third period.
Toronto returns to TD Garden on Saturday night for the first time since that thrilling series finale. The Leafs come into Boston tied for the best record in the Eastern Conference, but to establish themselves as one of the elite teams in the NHL, they need to beat opponents of the Bruins’ caliber on the road.
