Doug MartinDoug Martin wasn’t able to make the same impact on the field for the Buccaneers in his sophomore season as he did in his phenomenal rookie campaign.

After rushing for just one touchdown and an average of 76 yards in his first six games of the season, a torn labrum suffered in Week 7 against the Falcons put Martin’s availability for the rest of the season in jeopardy.

On Friday, the Buccaneers put the 23-year-old running back on injured reserve, which will end his 2013 season.

Martin finishes the year with 456 rushing yards and a touchdown. He also caught 12 passes for 66 yards. The former Boise State star rose to prominence last year with 1,454 rush yards and 11 touchdowns as a rookie.

Tampa Bay has struggled with and without their No. 1 running back this season, and is one of two teams that still hasn’t won a game.
