Cam NewtonCount on reckless Cam Newton to go rub in his big win over the New England Patriots with a late night outing — if that can be said about a trip to Waffle House that included nothing unhealthier than an “extremely light waffle,” that is.

Newton admitted Wednesday that he celebrated the Panthers’ victory over the Patriots on Monday night by going out, but it was merely to Waffle House, one of the few local establishments open late. Newton said he “popped orange juices” but was careful not to eat anything that could alter his preparation for his next game, according to ESPN.

“I order scrambled eggs, hash browns and cheese grits in one bowl with a light waffle … extremely light waffle,” Newton said. “Ah, man, to die for.”

Newton said he is “on a first-name basis” with the local Waffle House employees.

The Panthers are 7-3 now and get a pancake — er, cupcake — opponent next week in Miami.
