This can’t have been a fun week of practice for Brandon Sam-Hilton, who forgot to obey the No. 1 rule of always playing to the whistle.

Sam-Hilton’s Humber College (Toronto) Hawks led 72-70 with just seconds remaining in a game against Sheridan on Tuesday. Sheridan’s Trevor Williams — closely covered by Sam-Hilton — toppled over backward as he lofted up a 3-pointer at the buzzer. The third-year guard, thinking the shot had no chance of going in, stood over Williams and struck a cocky, hands-on-the-hips pose.

Williams’ heave found the basket, though, giving Sheridan a 73-72 win and prompting a wild court-storming by the home fans. Maybe next time, Sam-Hilton will save the celebration for after the final horn.

Check out the game-winner in the video below, with a hat tip to HoopsRant. The small gym brought some serious noise, so make sure your speakers are turned down.
