It’s always awesome when people perform acts of kindness, but it hits a special note when it happens to be around the holidays.
Kansas City Chiefs linebacker James-Michael Johnson stepped up to help a homeless shelter in his hometown of Fairfield, Calif., after it had been burglarized, according to KCTV5 in Kansas City. The Solano Mission planned to collect more than 1,000 turkeys to give to struggling families for Thanksgiving, but hundreds of the turkeys already donated were stolen from the shelter.
When Johnson heard about the incident, he decided to help replace the 300 turkeys that had been taken.
“I figured I am in a situation where I can help, where I can give back, so that is something I wanted to do,” Johnson told KCTV5.
Johnson was a fourth-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2012, and was picked up by the Chiefs before the 2013 season.
