Trick-shot videos are the gifts that keep on giving.
Former Monmouth College standout Alex Tanney has signed with the Browns after spending all 12 weeks this season with the Cowboys’ practice squad. The free-agent quarterback gained national attention in 2012 after posting a five-minute trick-shot video to YouTube in which he made full-court basketball shots with footballs, hit seemingly impossible targets in moving cars and the Division III product even showed off his accuracy and creativity in the weight room.
Despite setting the NCAA record for career touchdown passes with 157, Tanney went undrafted out of college. He was then signed by Kansas City, but the signal caller spent the entire 2012 season on injured reserve and signed with Dallas in the offseason.
Brandon Weeden out with a concussion he suffered in Sunday’s loss to Jacksonville after stepping in for Jason Campbell, who suffered a concussion earlier in the year, it’s entirely possible that Tanney could get the start Sunday against the Patriots.
Check out Tanney’s impressive skills in the video below, which has gotten over 3 million views to date.
