Florida Gulf Coast Bench Player Goes Wild After Alley-Oop Dunk Against Hartford (GIFs)

Remember Florida Gulf Coast, the darlings of last year’s NCAA tournament? Yeah, they’re still dunking.

After a season-opening loss on the road to Nebraska, Dunk City put on a clinic in its home opener, throwing down a number of emphatic slams in a 65-51 win over Hartford. One player apparently isn’t yet acclimated to the Eagles’ style of play, however.

Point guard Brett Comer connected with Nate Hicks on an alley-oop that extended FGCU’s lead to 14 late in the second half. It was a nice dunk, sure, but nowhere near the level of the slams this team was throwing down against Georgetown last season. Don’t tell that to this one guy on the end of the bench, though, who reacted as if the Eagles had just hit a half-court shot to win the national title.

Hey, can’t knock his enthusiasm.
