Florida Players Get Confused, Block Each Other During Upset Loss to Georgia Southern (Photo)

Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

The Florida Gators, an SEC powerhouse just a few short years ago, dropped a 26-20 decision to Georgia Southern at home on Saturday — their sixth straight loss and the first in school history to an FCS opponent.

Adding insult to injury was the fact that the Eagles did not complete a single pass and still managed to rack up 429 yards of total offense. That’s right, an FCS team with losses to the likes of Wofford, Furman and Samford this season outgained one of the most storied programs in college football history by 150 yards despite its quarterback, Kevin Ellison, finishing the game without a completion.

The loss dropped the Gators to 4-7 on the year, assuring Will Muschamp‘s squad of its first losing season since 1979 with a date with No. 2 Florida State still looming on the horizon.

One fan snapped a screenshot early in the second quarter that perfectly summed up this debacle of a season in Gainesville. Check it out below.
