The Carolina Hurricanes will get an upgrade in net for their matchup against the Boston Bruins on Monday night with the return of former Conn Smythe Trophy winner Cam Ward from injury.
The 29-year-old goaltender last played on Oct. 24 and lasted only 4:07 into the game before exiting. He’s 2-2-3 on the season, and with the Hurricanes ranking 28th in the NHL in goals scored, they will need a strong performance from Ward to have any chance of defeating a Bruins team that has won four of its last five games.
