He was suspended indefinitely on Friday for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. The suspension will cost him the rest of the 2013 season, and according to a statement from the NFL, “He will be eligible to apply for reinstatement prior to the start of the 2014 season.”
This is the same violation that forced Blackmon to sit out the first four games of this year. He returned to the Jaguars in Week 5, and in four games, the former Oklahoma State star caught 29 passes for 415 yards and a touchdown on 48 targets.
Jacksonville, which is one of two NFL teams still winless after eight weeks (Tampa Bay is the other), sits at the bottom of the AFC South Division with an 0-8 record.
