John Farrell Happy to Represent Sox, Feels ‘Honored to Be Mentioned in Same Sentence’ as Terry Francona, Bob Melvin (Video)

While it would be understandable if John Farrell felt a little snubbed by not coming away with the AL Manager of the Year award, the man who led the Red Sox to the World Series is much more pleased with the team’s success than winning the individual accolade.

Epitomizing the 2013 Boston Red Sox, Farrell spoke to NESN’s Adam Pellerin from Cleveland, Ohio, and deflected all of the individual praise right back to the team. The manager expressed what a privilege it was to represent the organization, fittingly saying, ‘we had one heck of a year.’ Farrell went on to say how honored he was just to be mentioned alongside Terry Francona and Bob Melvin.

Check out the above video to hear more from Farrell about the award and the Red Sox’ offseason plans.
