John Tavares Gets Leveled Into Linesman by Toronto’s Nikolai Kulemin (Video)

We’re not sure who got the worst of this collision: Islanders captain John Tavares or linesman Don Henderson.

Early in the second period of the Isles’ 5-2 loss to Toronto on Tuesday, Tavares absorbed a check from the Maple Leafs’ Nikolai Kulemin and went flying toward the New York bench. He never reached the boards, however, as Kulemin’s hit sent him barreling right into Henderson — in a spot where we doubt the official ever wants to be hit.

But neither were injured on the play — Henderson barely flinched, and Tavares returned to the ice for his next shift — and the moment produced this excellent action shot, courtesy of the Leafs’ Twitter account.
