Johnny Boychuk Scores First Goal of Season in Bruins’ 4-1 Win Over Hurricanes (Video)

Johnny Boychuk‘s insurance goal in the third period of Monday’s game against the Hurricanes secured an important road victory for the Bruins and ensured that a repeat of Friday’s collapse against the Senators would not happen.

The veteran defenseman’s goal was his first of the season, and it was made possible because Carolina goalie Cam Ward lost his stick from a previous save attempt. Milan Lucic added an empty-net goal in the final minute of regulation, and Boston has now won five of its last six games.
